How the Fuck Do We Keep Working While the Country Burns?
I keep asking myself this question every damn day: How the fuck am I supposed to keep showing up for my business while the world around me falls apart?
How do I post about a new charm or launch a new collection when ICE is out here kidnapping people in broad daylight? When LGBTQ+ rights are under full-scale assault? When Marines are detaining U.S. citizens, like we’re not even in a so-called democracy anymore? When the president—who swears he’s a Constitution-loving patriot—is governing in direct violation of it?
Every scroll through the news feels like another gut punch. The number of times I've heard @underthedesknews or @meidastouch say "breaking news!" when opening my Instagram is wild. Every alert makes me want to scream, throw my phone, and cry into my coffee. But then I’m expected to turn around and post something cute and on-brand like, “Hey babe, don’t forget to grab this badass new necklace!” Like... what the actual fuck?
And yet... I do. I have to. Because this business—my business—was built for moments like this.
It was born from rebellion. From rage. From being told women should be ladylike, and most definitely not say fuck. From not seeing anyone else giving a middle finger to bullshit expectations and deciding to become that person myself. Babe wasn’t made to be cute and quiet. It was made to be loud, political, queer, and fucking fed up.
This isn’t just jewelry or drinkware. This is a protest in accessory form. This is wearable resistance. So yes, I’m still posting. Not because things are okay—but because they aren’t. And because every sale, every share, every person rocking a “Revolt” necklace or “My Body, My Choice” tee is one more spark in this ongoing fight.
So if you're here, and you're as exhausted and angry and done as I am—I see you. You're not alone. And maybe buying something bold and unapologetic is the only thing you feel like you can do right now. That’s valid as hell. Let it be your "fuck you" to fascism.
We scream through art. We fight through community. We show up however we can.
Even when it feels impossible. Especially when it feels impossible.
